I like Lupin so I wouldn’t miss a movie. This one has all the basic dwelling points covered yet again. Nothing modern, Lupin’s humdrum yet again, Fujiko rips off the team, yet again.

Truthfully if you miss this one you aren’t any worse off. Everything felt half hearted, including the ending. There isn’t really any fan service in this movie. While never needed for the sage, it was calm a microscopic disappointment. Likewise the music, which is normally a highlight for me, was mundane at best.
If your looking for a “off into the sunset” movie where things fetch wrapped up, this is not it for the series. I doubt they will ever do that for Lupin.

The snort acting itself, (English dub) was on par with unique Funimation Lupin movies, nothing large but ok.
If you’re a fan, consume it cheap, if not pass it up.
What amazes and dismays me most about the entire Lupin III series is how after ( in this case ) over 20 years there has been virtually NO growth or development in any of these characters. It’s as if the entire production is on auto-pilot. What changes there have been are both cosmetic and confusing. Of course Lupin’s current seyuu is slow, replaced by an adequate substitute; but the changes to other cast members, notably Fujiko, are puzzling: though voiced by the same actress, she no longer looks anything like the fresh Fujiko. Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon fare better in this respect; and Zenegata appears as he has more recently, after his character’s alteration for the second TV series. Mild, the animation varies widely in this so-called “movie”, which was really a Japanese TV special.
Of course all the distinguished state devices are in place: something mysterious to be stolen; a curveacious rival to be tricked; Zenegata-Keibu likewise; impossible car chases and near-death experiences for our hero; lots of awful guys to be offed; an implacably detestable villian; what are supposed to characterize various “exotic” settings; etc., etc. Basically, if you’ve ever seen ANY version of Lupin, then you’ve seen all of this before; I found myself looking at the time more than once as I waited out its all-too-inevetable conclusion. The only allotment of this I actually ENJOYED was the over-the-top reaction of Zenegata to this latest “death” of Lupin; but even that’s nothing really unusual. I stammer when you have a franchise that’s as common in its native land as this one is, you don’t DARE change ANYTHING.
It’s not that it’s really SO bad; there’s honest very microscopic in it to infuriate interest, and certainly nothing current. In an attempt to be “hip” with its Unusual York City area, including lots of signage and secondary dialogue in English, it is thereby dated with several dejected views of the pre- 9/11 Twin Towers. Of course this is no fault of the 2000 production; but I found myself most amused by watching for other various legitimate audio-visual bloopers. For example, it’s quite certain that Sandy, the “huge” torch singer that Lupin has the hots for this time, though represented as an American singing in a Recent York lounge, is singing phonetically – and poorly at that – having NO whisper of English. Also, she has her name boldly displayed outside the club: “SUNDAY”! These are perfect examples of the mammoth care that was lavished on this production!

This fable of a Christmas-loving dog who tries to aid Santa produce his deliveries is both cute and innocent enough for young kids and hip enough for their Gen X parents. For example there’s a gargantuan line that parodies the “you’re no Jack Kennedy” order Lloyd Bentsen made to Dan Quayle in the 1988 VP debates. That’s going to go over the head of any kid, but they’ll be wondering why Mommy and Daddy reflect it’s so amusing. And that’s not the only joke snuck in for the grown ups.
With a larcenous penguin as a companion, Olive meets animated and interestingly-named characters as she heads to the North Pole to build Christmas. This special truly deserved its Emmy nomination and will entertain both you and your kids.
A last bit of trivia: When Drew Barrymore (the convey of Olive) was in Woody Allen’s musical, “Everyone Says I Fancy You”, she was the only star in it who was able to convince Woody her singing was so terrible that she should have a tell double for her songs. That should create it all the more sharp when you find to hear Drew train in “Olive, The Other Reindeer”.
How could you not treasure this fable? The title alone will construct you smile! But then someone got the stout view of animating this anecdote of a cramped but plucky runt dog named Olive who jumps at the chance to join Santa’s team of reindeer when Blitzen is injured AND letting Drew Barrymore do the content of Olive. By the time you examine the voices of Dan Castallaneta, Ed Asner, Peter MacNichol and Michael Stipe, you realize that they all signed on because this is a quality holiday myth. It has been a long time boys and girls since we have had a recent one this ample to appreciate during the holiday season. Even if you have not enjoyed the charming book by J. Otto Seibold and Vivian Walsh, you will esteem the movie. Or visa versa. If you have kids they will want to notice this one over and over, but do not peril about it; you will not mind that one bit.

How does a gem like this go unnoticed for so long? — Leonard Maltin is the only moive critic with the courage to behold past the fact that this is a teen movie and actually give it a exquisite chance. I kind of wonder if the other film critics I have read even watched the movie, or fair decided since it was a teen comedy and none of the “brat pack” was in it it must be poor.– This film is silly, modern, intellegent, serious, captivating, and, okay, sexy too. But compare this film to more favorite cult 80’s movies like “Valley Girl.” I bask in “Valley Girl,” but compared to “Honest One of the Guys” “V. Girl” is an empty movie. Certain, it’s basic premise is colossal, the Romeo and Juliet account, the untouchable valley girl who falls in fancy with the rebel city punk, but the execution of this anecdote, the acting, the cinematography, are all very contemptible. Compared to “Guys” which is well shot, well acted, and well written. How it has escaped cult position is beyond me.– The themes in “Guys” are deep, heck, they’re even literary. The psychology, the sexual identity crisis, homophobia, social ineptitude, popularity, sex, career prospects, the demolish of childhood, sexism, observe pressure, music, fashion, appearance, I mean, you could unbiased go on and on. You could write a book on the many levels this film operates on. You could devote a masters thesis on the literary interpretations of everthing from the characters, to the dialogue, the situations, even the images and physical appearances.– Am I reading too worthy into a fluffy 80’s teen sex comedy? Well, okay, maybe I am. But that’s the fun of this film, it operates on so many levels it’s staggering.– RENT IT! You won’t be sorry.– And as for JOYCE HYSER (are you out there JOYCE? ) this woman should have been a major MAJOR star. Her acting ability is matched only by her beauty. I’ve seen some of her other movies (like “Wedding Band”), films that are not that tall, but she shines in them, turning each scene into something beyond the limits of the film she’s stuck in.– In one scene in wedding band she is at a restaurant about to propose to her boyfriend, her co-star (whom I won’t name) seems to be sitting there waiting for his paycheck, but Joyce pours herself into the scene to the point that not only do you feel for her character, you feel for Joyce herself.– JOYCE, we admire you! Please do more films, I’ll perceive them all.
I’ll skip the “over-the-top” superlatives of some of the other reviewers in this group, but “Unprejudiced One of the Guys” is a fun, sparkling comedy with a host of well-drawn characters titanic and shrimp. It follows the formula — but it doesn’t. Its comedy is three-dimensional. Although it has powerful to say about teen angst and growing up, it never takes itself too seriously, so we can laugh along the draw. Even the class bully is handled with a sense of humor. You despise him, but that’s okay because so does everyone else.

Is the movie dated? Yes, in many respects it represents its decade — the 80s. But its humor and its message have not dimmed with the years. It’s not unbiased a kid’s movie, either. I’ve watched it many times, and at well over 40, I’m no kid. As for Joyce Hyser, she carries the film with grace and humor and a range that would gain most of the “astronomical stars” of the movies today jealous (if they understood what she was doing) . And — as has been illustrious by another reviewer — only Leonard Maltin among the “official” critics gives this movie a chance. I hope it comes out on DVD, and that it includes an interview with its star and some of the other principals. A accurate sleeper. Luxuriate In!!

If you’ve never seen Naruto before–DO NOT Inaugurate HERE….GO Serve TO THE BEGINNING AND Open THERE….NOW….SERIOUSLY.
All suitable, now that that’s out of the plan, let’s recede on. This boxed situation spends basically the whole time in the forrest of death. Let me reveal you, Naruto’s team gets the worst of it, because the terrible guy is after them–of course–. Sasuke has the curse price set on him, dreadful guy(Orochimaru) puts another seal on Naruto’s nine-tailed fox so Naruto can no longer access it’s chakra while fighting, and we finally look Sakura doing some steady fighting. I esteem the fact that all nine rookies fabricate it through the second allotment of the exam. I’m sitting there going, “YES! You fair got your butts kicked by the rookies!” This status ends in the middle of the preliminary exams, which they are having because too many people passed the second fraction. Of course, it ends correct in the middle of Sasuke’s battle. (Grumble to yourself and go rep the next boxed status. Better yet, impartial derive 4 when you pick up this one.)
The first two boxes were very enchanting, you know that- unless you should be heeding my warning above about not starting here-but this is where things really initiate heating up. And it fair gets better from here-I know because I’ve seen about 100-103 episodes(unfortunately that is all that has aired here in the U.S. -sad face-, if you live in Japan, you might have seen more like 250 or so -jealous face-)
As I have said in, at least most, of my other reviews, remove these sets on sale. Sight that number of aired episodes in Japan up there. 250. Average of 13 episodes in each box. 250 divided 13??? Round it up to 20 boxed sets. And from what I have read about where that last episodes ends, there will be more. If you pay 50 bucks for each boxed residence, you are CRAZY. or rich, but unexcited…crazy. Amazon has handsome trustworthy sales around labor day weekend. I saved around 90.00 dollars by buying the first five boxes on labor day weekend (okay, I only pre-ordered the fifth cause it wasn’t out yet) . Put yourself some money. If they maintain on releasing them as they have been, a unique boxed position will be coming out about every three months.
well i finnaly got it today i also bear the other two boxsets and this one was objective as kindly as the others it starts correct in the forest of death and ends accurate before the sudden death eliminations the perfect area to destroy in my thought impartial like the other box sets you have the options of watching it in japanese with english subtitles or you can ogle it in english with subtitles as well so you can survey what they say in the japanese version while watching it in english perfect the album art on the inside of the box is also very nice if your looking for an addition to your naruto collection this is the boxset for you

Commenting strictly on the Bonus DVD, “Wake Up Ron Burgundy”, I must say that my expectations were far surpassed. I was expecting a bonus disc of deleted and extended scenes, cast notes, etc… I had no plan they had filmed enough footage to sever another movie together. I loved the modern Anchorman movie, so I was attractive wrathful to observe this “bonus movie”.

“Wake Up Ron Burgundy” contains some scenes that could easily have been feeble in the recent movie. There is some hilarious material to be discovered on this disc. The DVD also contains Rehearsal footage, Ron Burgundy’s award acceptance speeches, MTV Movie Award interviews and even some skits they seemed to film for no other reason than their acquire amusement. This is sizable material to have if you like the “Channel 4 News Team”, as they are truly permitted to speed wild in these bonus features. I have not been able to regain this DVD offered on its acquire and I’m assuming it is of little quantity, so pick up it while you can…
As far as I know, the only device to salvage it is to buy it in the bundle with the novel. I actually had to acquire the movie again when I found out there was another DVD to be seen. The modern had left me with countless lines to quote and so many scenes I found myself rewinding over and over again that I decided to splurge and win the bonus disc along with another modern copy.

If you enjoyed Ron, Champ, Brian & Brick in Anchorman, you will definitely delight in this movie.
“If we encounter any hostiles, tranquil throat cuts only” – Brick Tambland.
I LOVED this movie when I saw it in the theatre over the past summer- so I was pumped to watch an “unrated” version approach out on DVD.
Whomever was in charge of putting this DVD together yanked a tremendous chain on this release. I had expected the “unrated” version to be funnier than the theatrical version which I view was one of the year’s funniest movies, because in general, “unrated” cuts have been better than the “regular” release.
This “unrated” version skips a couple really substantial monents from the theatrical version, one instance is when Carell’s character “Brick” utters “I ate a great red candle” during the party hangover sequence and they replace it with a joke that’s nowhere arrive that broad non-sequitor. Reach the waste of the film they edited out Ferrell’s lines unbiased before he picks up the phone in the bar (something about “once being an anchorman”) which was more in line with the film’s plot/angle than the original scene of Burgundy eating cat poop. A TERRIBLY UNFUNNY ADDITION.
The crapper of it is, the unrated DVD has different and admittedly better extras than the theatrical DVD release, so to actually gather the theatrical slit(which is a better slit than the unrated version) the customer gets screwed if they want the better extra features. lame.
in all actuality this review would be 4 for the movie, and 1 for the device this fiasco was attach out on DVD.

“Here Comes Peter Cottontail” is another large Animagic treat from Rankin/Bass. The recount on the DVD is gargantuan, and does fleshy justice to this classic.
Vincent Price’s Irontail is one of the best villains in any holiday special. There is a special injurious flair to the character, a black bunny who rides on a giant bat and only wants to order mud-colored eggs. I care for Danny Kaye, who does a expansive job as the narrator Seymour S. Sassafras.
The best scenes are Peter trying to snarl holiday-themed eggs during competing holidays. 4th of July eggs, Valentine’s Day eggs, Christmas eggs and green St. Patrick’s Day eggs spring from his basket. Our gallant tiny hero tries his best, and overcomes his self-inflicted follies in honest holiday style.

Sadly, the accompanying feature “Puss in Boots” is very low-quality Rankin/Bass. It is a cheaply spellbinding feature and does not fit well with “Here Comes Peter Cottontail.” There is no Easter theme to the cartoon, and I cannot discover myself watching it more than once. A better fit would have been “The Easter Bunny is Coming to Town” or “The First Easter Rabbit.” This tacked-on extra keeps the DVD from getting 5 stars.
Other than that, large DVD! More please.
This is an kindly stop-motion TV special that originally aired during the early 70’s. It features the voices of Danny Kaye, Vincent Impress and Casey Kasem. It is produced by the improbable animation team of Rankin/Bass who also graced our television sets with holiday traditions such as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, “Santa Claus is Coming To Town”, “Cool the Snowman”, and the current cult classic “Inflamed Monster Party”.
This fanciful, pastel-colored Easter special is based on a book titled “The Easter Bunny Who Overslept”. Peter agrees to a contest against Cross Irontail to peek who can order the most Easter eggs. But, when Peter oversleeps, leaving Injurious Irontail to rule April Valley (the land of Easter bunnys), he must depart aid through time making unplanned stops at all the other holidays on his blueprint serve to Easter.

The movie revolves around a border collie puppy born on a spectacularly glorious sheep ranch advance the ocean in the British Isles. As the puppy grows up, there is a expect as to whether she can note herself to be a talented sheep-herder and net the lawful to end with her family. An novel, and rather obsolete, feature of this movie is that while the animal “stars” exclaim to each other in unusual voices, there is no computer-assisted mouth movement or other new CGI features generally associated with movies such as this. The actions (and accents) of the dogs, sheep, and ducks all fit who they are and what they are doing and saying, and the individual personalities of each animal become well developed. Kids will like this. Parents will too.
The place contains some suspense, misfortune, humor, and (warning) the inevitable tear-jerking moment when one of the dogs dies of broken-down age (very nicely handled) . The scenery is shapely, as is the photography, and the script, while a wee bit juvenile, is composed better than scripts found in many “adult” movies.

If you have young children and want to do them (and yourself) a mountainous favor, rent or prefer this DVD. It is not as glossy as a Disney feature, but has an old-style beauty that simply glows. You will reach to appreciate Mist.
Mist makes the list of my celebrated family movies. Impartial enough conflict to withhold it captivating, but no violence, no uncouth language, no cartoon characters, none of the double entendres you don’t want to have to justify to children.
Mist is a sheepdog puppy who grows up in this film and learns the rules of being a satisfactory sheepdog. She exemplifies the power of focus, courage, and attention, and gently teaches those lessons. Added to this is a setting that will peaceful your spirit, and photography that shimmers.
Mist gently lifts your spirit. I highly recommend it.

Loosely based on the distinguished new by Jules Verne and plot in the behind 19th Century, LEAGUES offers the record of Professor Arronax (Paul Lukas), his assistant Conseil (Peter Lorre), and harpooner Ned Land (Kirk Douglas), who are coaxed by the United States government to assist in the search for a sea monster said to be terrorizing shipping lanes. But the monster is not of flesh and blood, and soon the three net themselves in the hands of the mysterious Captain Nemo (James Mason) as prisoners aboard the Nautilus–a fully functional submarine gracious of ramming ships and sending them to the ocean floor.
Underwater photography was hardly original in 1954, but never had it been broken-down so extensively nor to such visually splendid execute, and the art designs–particularly those for the Nautilus–are justly famed. But for all its beauty, it is the performances which originate the film work. James Mason does not merely play Nemo, he seems to be Nemo; after seeing his performance it is impossible to imagine any other actor in the role. Paul Lukas adds yet another brilliantly understated performance to his memorable career, and while Kirk Douglas and Peter Lorre are hardly the Ned Land and Conseil of the Verne fresh they have surprising chemistry and lend the film grand slither.
At the time of its release, LEAGUES was the single most expensive motion represent ever made (ironically it would loose that dubious distinction later that same year to yet another film featuring James Mason: A STAR IS BORN), and every penny of the money spent shows in the onscreen result. While many of Disney’s live-action films are fondly recalled, few have had enduring fame, mighty less claim to state as art–but LEAGUES is the exception, and although the episodic nature of the tale seems a shade languid from time to time it remains both a landmark and one of the most influential films of its decade. Truly savory from commence to enact.

GFT, Amazon Reviewer
Like many of the other reviewers of this movie, I’m a pre-boomer who was dazzled by the film as a child. Somewhere in my aging mom’s attic, I have a few bolts (painted wood) from the movie location of the Nautilus, which I “borrowed” from one of the Disney properties as a kid nearly a half century ago. I remember taking a bus from LA to Burbank to survey through the slats of the fence in the support lot of the Disney Studios and seeing a partial model of the Nautilus, perhaps 1/3 scale, tossed in a corner like so distinguished debris. What I would have given to be able to run that model home.
When I viewed the VHS version of this film a couple of years ago, I was bitterly disappointed by the bad quality which made the watching experience actually painful to a fan like me. But, let me drawl you, this DVD is as thrilling as the VHS was painful. This fully-restored version of the film comes roaring support to life in all of its glory and then some. It’s the best film restoration these broken-down eyes have ever beheld. Watched on a state-of-the-art widescreen TV, this is every bit the experience it was in the ’50’s and I consider it’s fabulous that this stout film is now preserved for the ages, honest as it was when it was first released.
Is this a perfect movie? No. Even as a kid, I noticed that the background music was too cheesy, that Kirk Douglas’s songs seemed gratuitous, that the fish swimming outside the tall porthole were cartoonish, and that the electrically-illuminated gaze of the Giant Squid made an otherwise perfect special accomplish spy a bit groundless. I’m honest as puzzled by those weaknesses today as I was then, especially since all other aspects of the film, including the numerous, Oscar-winning special effects engrossing the Nautilus, are masterful. But no movie is perfect and this movie, minor warts and all, is nothing less than a memorial to the genius of Disney, the acting of James Mason, the passion of the Disney staff, and the vision of Jules Verne.
